Datos y curiosidades
En dos oportunidades Defensores ganó puntos en el Tribunal de Disciplina. En 1932 -Argentino de Temperley había ganado por 2 a 1- y en el partido de junio de 2001, inconcluso por el tristemente célebre puñetazo al jugador Hugo Rodríguez que tanto daño le hizo a la imagen del Club Atlético Temperley.
El 13 de septiembre de 1969, en el partido en que Temperley goleó a Defensores por 5 a 1, el defensor del Celeste, Héctor Niglio, sufrió una grave lesión, a diez minutos del final del partido, que lo alejó definitivamente del fútbol. Proveniente de Argentinos Juniors, dejaba atrás 151 partidos con la camiseta de Temperley. Tras su retiro obligado, se dedicó a la dirección técnica de juveniles en All Boys y en Argentinos Juniors, club en el que había surgido.
El 15 de noviembre de 1969, Temperley y Defensores de Belgrano igualaron 2 a 2 en un partido jugado en la vieja cancha de Platense, que estaba situada en Manuela Pedraza y Cramer. Fue la última vez que Hugo Haspert y José Luis Aguirre integraron el equipo celeste antes del trágico accidente ocurrido en la ciudad bonaerense de Lezama.
Temperley y Defensores de Belgrano tienen una historia llena de goles. El partido con mayor cantidad de goles marcados -diez- se jugó el 14 de junio de 1998 en el Bajo Núñez y Defensores ganó por 6 a 4.
El primer 0 a 0 que registra el historial fue en 1946, 20 años después de jugarse el primer partido entre los dos rivales. Solo en cinco ocasiones se repitió ese resultado.
Jugadores que convirtieron tres goles en un partido : Roberto Galarza, Invernatti, Estrella, Oscar Tomás López y Daniel Giménez, para Defensores. Donnola, Rubén Fernández y Corbalán, para Temperley.
Victor Hugo Prato, puntero izquierdo de larga y fructífera trayectoria en El Celeste, debutó ante Defensores de Belgrano el 14 de julio de 1951. El partido finalizó 1 a 1 y se jugó en el Estadio Beranger.
